Directly Connected Christian Center was founded on April 1, 1999, in the residence of Pastor Victor L. Harris. The first official location of the ministry was 3408 West Broad Avenue. After one year at that location the church relocated to 1018 West Highland Avenue, to accommodate the growth of the ministry. Five years later the church was renamed to Directly Connected Christian Center because of how it connect people directly to God through Jesus Christ. Metonymy is define as the container put for the content, which means the container get it’s name from the content. The church is not the location or the building, but it is the people that gives the container its name. Our belief in Jesus Christ is what makes us the church, not a church. When Jesus asked His disciples “whom do they say I am”? Peter was moved by God to give us the correct answer, which is the foundation of the church, “Jesus Christ, the son of the living God”. We must accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior to become a member of the true church. We believe the Holy Spirit is our teacher sent from Jesus Christ to teach us Christ. The Holy Spirit is what gives strength to our inner man to believe and receive the things which comes from God. In light of this revelation we understand the Holy Spirit is our connection to Christ, which directly connects us to God. We pride ourselves on getting people to come to the knowledge of the truth, therefore we believe that the precious gift of the Holy Spirit is for everyone. No man can see or receive the things which come from God except he be born again of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is what gives strength to our inner man to believe and receive the things, which comes from God. It is a delight to meet new people and we trust you will enjoy our fellowship and be encouraged in the Lord. Our church is not the building, nor an organization, no church is. We meet in this building and we are organized, but in reality, the Church is comprised of its people; without people there is no church. As people of God, we desire to live in vital relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and this fellowship defines our values and produces our vision. This relationship creates an atmosphere of love and genuine friendships.
